Terms of Service & Service Agreement
Plain-English summary of how Fritz Plows works. This is a draft for review and is not legal advice; the final version will be reviewed by an attorney before launch.
1. Keeping your driveway accessible
On snow days your driveway must be clear to plow — move vehicles and unlock any gates. Keep the driveway free of obstacles, or mark them with reflective stakes. Anything left unmarked in the driveway may not be plowed, and we aren't responsible for damage to it.
2. When we plow
You set a snow-depth trigger for each property (2", 4", or 6"). We plow once accumulated snow reaches at least that depth. By default we plow once per storm; you can opt in to repeat plowing during a single storm, which is billed as a separate plow.
3. Pricing & payment
You keep a card on file. Per-plow pricing is based on your driveway size and distance from our shop, and scales with snowfall depth — deeper storms cost more. For pay-per-plow customers we may place a temporary authorization hold on your card when your property enters the route, and capture it once the plow is complete.
4. Plans
- Pay-per-plow. Your card is charged after each plow.
- Prepaid season. One payment covers snow service for the winter — effectively unlimited, subject to a fair-use cap of 10 plows per season. If a property is plowed more than 10 times in a single winter, each additional plow is billed at the regular per-plow rate (scaled by snow depth, like any per-plow charge). The cap exists so one property in an unusually heavy winter doesn't run at a loss; in a typical Toledo winter you'll never reach it.
- Subscription. Billed monthly or annually and auto-renews each year. You may cancel anytime; service continues through the period you've already paid for.
5. Priority "before X a.m." add-on
You may reserve a recurring 30-minute morning window so your driveway is cleared before your commute. Slots in each window are limited to what one truck can serve and are filled first-come, first-served; if a window is full, choose another. The add-on costs $15 per plow on top of your plan or per-plow price, and applies to every plow while it's active. A reserved time is a best-effort target, not a guarantee against severe weather, breakdowns, or road conditions outside our control. You can cancel the add-on anytime from your property page.
6. Tips
Tips are optional and always appreciated. Any tip you add — one-time or a standing auto-tip — is charged to your card on file as a separate charge.
7. Failed payments
If a charge or renewal is declined, we'll notify you by text and email to update your card, and we (and our payment processor) will retry. Service may pause until payment is resolved.
8. Refunds
Prepaid season: fully refundable if no snow has fallen in the 60 days since payment; once snow service has begun, the season is non-refundable. Subscriptions: no partial refunds — cancellation simply stops the next renewal.
9. Liability
We plow with reasonable care, but snow hides hazards. We are not responsible for damage to unmarked obstacles, pre-existing cracks or damage, landscaping at the driveway's edge, or for slips on snow/ice. You agree to mark obstacles as described above. This does not waive liability for damage caused by our gross negligence.
10. Text messages
By providing your mobile number and consenting at sign-up, you agree to receive account and service texts from Fritz Plows. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.
11. Changes & contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated to active customers. Questions? Reach out and Fritz will get back to you.
